The seven-time English world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) was exhibited this Sunday when he won the Brazilian Grand Prix, the nineteenth of the F1 World Cup, in which he relegated to second place the Dutch Max Verstappen (Red Bull), who continues to lead, but now with a 14-point advantage, with three rounds to go before the end of the most exciting championship in recent years.
Hamilton, who started tenth, starred in quite an exhibition, climbing nine places to extend to 101 his own all-time record for victories in the premier class at Interlagos, where his Finnish teammate Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes) was third; and Mexican Sergio Pérez (Red Bull), fourth: setting the fastest lap in the race on the last lap, to ‘take’ the extra point from ‘Sir’ Lewis. In a real ‘carrerón’, the Spanish Carlos Sainz (Ferrari) and Fernando Alonos (Alpine) finished sixth and ninth, respectively.
