A shocking lap 26 in the Italian GP
For a long time the race wasn’t looking like the electrifying one, but we knew there would be a lot of reshuffling after the pit stops. And it was so. Verstappen had a terrible pit stop as his tires were changed over 11 seconds, then Hamilton had too long a pit stop and unexpectedly both drivers rode side by side in the middle of the grid. And already in the first chicane of the track there was a clash between them. Verstappen wanted to break in from inside and was almost in front of Hamilton, but his car shot into the air after being hit by the chicanery. Red Bull hanged unexpectedly on Hamilton’s Mercedes and that meant one thing. The end of the race for the two best drivers this season.
Good ride Kubica
Robert Kubica took advantage of the confusion on the track and the safety car, who in the meantime went to a “free pit stop”. The Pole changed tires for intermediate tires and finished in twelfth position. In the next laps Kubica fought several exciting duels with Sebastian Vettel. The Pole fought off the German’s attacks several times, but finally allowed himself to be overtaken in the first chicane. On lap 49, Antonio Giovinazzi also jumped in front of Kubica. Eventually Kubica took the 14th place.
