The Board of Directors of Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Distinguished Academic Performance has announced the results of the competitions for the 25th session of its local awards. Where it was approved that 49 distinguished laureates out of a total of 177 nominees submitted to final arbitration in the awards for Distinguished Student, Distinguished Undergraduate, Distinguished Teacher, Distinguished Educator, and Distinguished Non-Academic School.
This occurred during a meeting of the Board of Trustees held at the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Center for Giftedness and Innovation, chaired by Humaid Mohammed Al Qatami, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and attended by Dr. Balyoha and Suleiman Abdul-Khaleq Al-Ansari.
Humaid Muhammad Al-Qatami praised the role of the Ministry of Education, higher education institutions and strategic partners in supporting the institution’s goals and their commitment to support its efforts to provide opportunities for development and innovation in the education system through pioneering projects and programs aimed at educational excellence and nurturing gifted and innovative students, which would enhance the plans of institutions concerned to achieve quality educational performance in the community.
Al-Qatami expressed his happiness at the success of the Foundation’s awards cycle, which comes in celebration of its silver jubilee, and has become more influential and widespread through institutional sponsorship and trust in its goals and the their continued support, adding that the continuous updating of the evaluation criteria in the Hamdan Foundation Awards, over 25 years, has led to the emergence of models of practices Excellence in educational performance encompassed knowledge, skills, attitudes and values.
He stressed that the institution continues to carry out its mission as the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum wanted it, may God have mercy on him, and that the council, under the directives of its supreme president, Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan Al Maktoum, is working on developing career paths that support the efforts of educational institutions and bodies, both in educational excellence and in the education sector Talent or innovation, foreseeing that the Hamdan EFQM International Education Model Project and the Global Center for the Gifted will contribute to a good reflection on education locally and internationally and will provide excellent opportunities to deliver quality educational services to students.
For his part, Dr. Khalifa Al-Suwaidi, Secretary General of the Foundation, expressed his satisfaction with the level of response from the education sector, participation in the awards and the results of its evaluation, and the Foundation’s continued performance in attracting distinguished attendees from all elements of the education system, explaining the Foundation’s commitment to achieving leadership in evaluating educational excellence and appreciating distinguished.
Al-Suwaidi said: The Foundation has now acquired technical and administrative practices and skills that enable it to provide specialized skills in creating educational excellence and measure the quality of academic achievement, as well as discover gifted people, nurture them and support innovators, adding that the Foundation’s awards are characterized by simplicity, making them one of the most accurate awards in evaluating participants and measuring their eligibility for Certificate of Excellence accreditation.
For his part, Dr. Ali Al-Kaabi, general coordinator of the arbitration commissions, explained that the approval of the results at the local level comes after the end of the central arbitration of the award, which was conducted through interviews and virtual visits, and the questions were submitted to evaluation by arbitration panels, to ensure that the arbitration proceedings are conducted in line with international standards. Specifying that the Foundation has developed programs to train central arbitrators on evaluation mechanisms and arbitration processes according to the developed model of standards, while confirming the integrity of the evaluation processes inspired by the principle of transparency and impartiality.
Interestingly, the winners of the Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation Awards for Distinguished Academic Performance will be honored at a ceremony to be held during the month of March 2023 in Dubai which will include the winners of all award categories at the venue, Gulf and Arab levels and the International Gifted Awards.
