Hamburg – Daniel Elfadli, who did not get a release from 1. FC Magdeburg, is not, but another player from Hamburger SV as the last summer transfer was brought. Lukasz Poreba is now wearing the Rothosen jersey and was loaned out by the French first division club and reigning runners-up RC Lens. The 23-year-old Polish midfielder is the desired backup for Jonas Meffert and will stay until at least next summer.

Newcomer on the six

“With Lukasz Poreba we were able to gain a suitable last piece of the puzzle for our squad structure. Thanks to his qualities in playing with and against the ball, he will strengthen us in midfield in the sixth position and increase the competition in the team. With his profile, Lukasz fits our requirements well and his great enthusiasm for his job at HSV was immediately noticeable, so we’re really looking forward to him,” says director of professional football Claus Costa.

Ten times for Poland U21

Poreba made ten appearances for Poland’s under-21 national team and switched to the French League 1 from first-division side Zaglebie Lubin last year. During that time, he made ten appearances for RC Lens.

Poreba makes promises

The Pole had German as a subject when he was at school and will certainly not have any integration problems. He says: “I’ve known HSV for many years and it’s a great pleasure for me to now play for this extraordinary club. I will always give 100 percent and always work for the team.”
