Hamburg Towers remain without a win in the Eurocup

The Bundesliga basketball team Hamburg Towers also lost their second game in the Eurocup. The team of coach Pedro Calles lost to Joventut Badalona in Spain with 56:73 (30:34). The German national player Justus Hollatz was together with Jaylon Brown the best shooter in Hamburg. Both had 14 points each. Badalona’s most effective player was Vladimir Brodziansky with 16 points.

The Hamburg team got off to a good start in the game and led by 21:17 after the first quarter. In the second part of the game, however, the North Germans lost their accuracy. They only got nine points and went into the break 30:34 behind. The Towers could not be shaken off and still had a chance of victory after the third section with an intermediate result of 45:52. In the final phase of the fourth quarter, however, the Spaniards pulled away.

The Hamburg newcomer Ray McCallum has not yet played in this game. The former NBA player will only join the team later this week. The next game in the Eurocup will take place next Tuesday in Hamburg against Morabanc Andorra. In the Bundesliga, the Towers are challenged against Academics Heidelberg on Friday.
