Hamburg – Die Hamburg Sea Devils have for the upcoming season European League of Football (ELF) to report special access: Toby Naylor, a British linebacker of outstanding talent, will strengthen the team. Despite his young age of 23, Naylor can already look back on an impressive career that established him as one of the few British players at a US college. Originally from Southampton, he is moving from Brevard College (Div. III) to the Hanseatic city of Hamburg.

A promising talent

“I am excited to become a Sea Devil and have heard nothing but positive things about the city, the franchise and the team culture. “I’m looking forward to doing my part for success,” says the 1.89 meter tall and 105 kilogram heavy Naylor about his move. His football career began in England, where he played for the Solent Seahawks Academy, Bristol Pride Academy and the youth national team before moving to the USA.

Praise from the Sea Devils

Miguel Boock, former middle linebacker for the Sea Devils and current Director of Sports, is enthusiastic about the new addition: “With Toby we were able to gain a defensive ‘field general’ that is rarely found in European football. Particularly at the middle linebacker position, it is crucial to have someone who has both leadership skills and a high football IQ. Toby has both and was captain of his college team for three years. His attitude and clear goals convinced us. I am very pleased to welcome Toby here in Hamburg!”
