Hamburg: Resident parking new in Uhlenhorst and Hohenfelde

It continues with the next resident parking zones in Hamburg: In the coming weeks, six new areas will start in Uhlenhorst, Hohenfelde and Borgfelde. This means that anyone who does not live there can park there for a maximum of three hours – but there are some exceptions.

The new residents’ parking area, which is divided into six zones, comes into effect on March 6: N109 Hofweg, N110 Feenteich, N111 Uhlenhorster Weg, N112 Schwanenwik, N113 Lübecker Straße and M111 Borgfelde.

Resident parking: Six new areas come into force here

Since January 23, residents have been able to apply for the appropriate resident parking permits, which are available either online for EUR 65 per year or at all locations of the State Transport Authority for EUR 70 per year. Everyone else has to pay three euros per hour for a parking space and only use it for a maximum of three hours.

But be careful: The resident parking permit is not valid in parts of the shopping streets Papenhuder Straße and Lübecker Straße, here you can only park for a fee for a maximum of three hours.

“The introduction of the residents’ parking area in Uhlenhorst, Hohenfelde and Borgfelde aims to reduce the parking pressure on site and to increase road safety,” said the LBV at the beginning of January. “The so-called ‘long-term parking’ by people who do not live in the area should be significantly reduced by the parking regulation, thereby increasing the chances of residents to find a parking space near their place of residence.”

Parking pressure is to be reduced in the areas

Simone Dornia, spokeswoman for the Hamburg Greens for Uhlenhorst and Hohenfelde, points out that the resident parking zones in the other parts of the city have already demonstrably reduced the parking pressure. “I’m sure that the resident parking on the Uhlenhorst and in Hohenfelde will lead to a significant improvement in the quality of life of the residents,” she says.

In addition, however, some special rules apply: In parts of Fährhausstrasse, Averhoffstrasse, Hohenfelder Allee and Angerstrasse, day tickets can be bought from machines for ten euros. Craftsmen and tradespeople can apply for a special permit for cars they need for their business. This has recently also applied to shift workers whose work begins up to and including 6 a.m. – employees can each acquire a quota of special permits for their employees. Parking is free between 8 p.m. and 9 a.m., even without a permit.
