Hamburg (dpa / lno) – Thanks to lower corona numbers and progress in vaccination, Hamburgers will be able to move more freely again from Friday. According to the Senate, private meetings of ten people are again allowed outdoors. Indoors it remains at five for the time being. Fully vaccinated and convalescent people are also exempt from the contact restrictions. Vaccinated and recovered hamburgers should be able to obtain digital proof via the Corona warning app or the new CovPass app from next week at the earliest. “The technical infrastructure does not yet exist, which is why no digital certificates can be issued in Hamburg at the moment,” said the social welfare authority on Thursday.
Further easing concerns tourism, leisure and sport. Hotels, hostels and campsites can be 100 percent occupied again from Friday – previously only 60 percent were allowed. At events, up to 100 people can now gather indoors and up to 500 outdoors, subject to hygiene requirements.
Up to 30 adults are allowed to do sports together outdoors, and up to ten people indoors if it is a contactless sport. Prostitution is permitted again under certain conditions. Saunas, steam baths and wellness facilities are allowed to open with restrictions. On the other hand, clubs, discos and other dance halls remain closed. The alcohol ban at the city’s party hotspots also remains in place at certain times.
Hamburg’s seven-day incidence, i.e. the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week, fell from 18.4 to 17.4 on Thursday. 58 newly detected infections were added according to the health authority. That was three fewer than on Wednesday and 20 fewer than a week ago.
815,490 people were vaccinated at least once by Wednesday, according to figures from the Robert Koch Institute. 420,568 hamburgers or 22.8 percent of the population are already fully vaccinated.
The CDU parliamentary group criticized the vaccination rate. “When it comes to vaccinations, Hamburg has now reached the bottom of all federal states and Mayor (Peter) Tschentscher just watches,” said CDU parliamentary group leader Dennis Thering. The mayor must immediately ensure that Hamburg gets more vaccine.
According to the RKI, the Hanseatic city ranks last among the federal states in terms of vaccination doses per 100 inhabitants with 65.6. However, Hamburg only ranks second to last when it comes to vaccine deliveries with 70.7 doses.
Hamburg is still getting very little vaccine compared to its population, said Social and Health Senator Melanie Leonhard (SPD) on Wednesday in an NDR chat. “We have already noted this several times with the federal government,” said the senator. There is now a promise that distribution will be balanced. This gives Hamburg a chance to get a better vaccination rate.
The Hamburg regional association of the Social Association of Germany (SoVD) warned against leaving senior citizens behind with the digital vaccination certificate. “Almost half of all senior citizens and people with low incomes are still dependent on paper,” said association boss Klaus Wicher. Only every second person over 65 has a smartphone and can do something with QR codes.
