On Monday evening (19 August), the S-Bahn station in Hamburg-Billstedt became the scene of a cruel confrontation that ended in tragedy.
According to initial information, several people in Hamburg got into a heated argument that escalated and ended in brutal violence. Two people were injured, one of them so seriously that he lost his life a short time later.

Witnesses report that a man was seriously injured by a knife or other sharp object. The dramatic scenes that followed are blood-curdling: friends and eyewitnesses tried desperately to help the man lying on the ground.
The rescue service, the fire department and an emergency doctor fought for the victim’s life, but all their efforts were in vain. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful and the man eventually died at the scene.

Where buses normally depart, the square was blocked by a large number of emergency vehicles. Police and firefighters were in constant use.
The crime scene resembled a nightmare: blood-stained first responders were cared for by emergency chaplains, still in shock. The police questioned several possible eyewitnesses who had witnessed the drama.

While the investigation is still in full swing, a large-scale manhunt for the suspect has been launched in the area. A man was checked on Horner Landstrasse, but it is still unclear whether he had anything to do with the crime.
There was also a spectacular operation on Billstedter Hauptstrasse: Several patrol cars surrounded a BMW, whose occupants were taken to the police station. It is also not yet known whether this incident is connected to the terrible crime.
