Hamburg judo team reaches Bundesliga finals

The Hamburg judo team secured first place in the northern group with two sovereign victories on the fourth and final day of the Bundesliga fight. The defending champion defeated host JT Hannover 12-2 and VfL Riesa 13-1 on Saturday, thus remaining without loss of points on all four days of the fight. In the final round on November 14th in Leipzig, the team of coach Slavko Tekic will meet record champions TSV Abensberg in the semifinals. The other semifinals are contested by UJKC Potsdam and KSV Esslingen.

“Our team fought sensationally, although we were again only weakly staffed,” said HJT President Rainer Ganschow. But he emphasized: “Everyone was perfectly adjusted. As always, Slavko Tekic’s strategy worked. “
With a view to the finals, Ganschow was confident. “If our boys are all fit and ready, it will be difficult for the opponents to defeat us,” he said.
