Hamburg: Hyundai lands in a lateral position after a crash on the Alster

Hohenfelde –

In the construction site area at the Schwanenwik / Sechslingspforte intersection, there was a crash on Sunday morning – again. A Hyundai stood on its side.

Its driver was pulled out of the wreck by first aiders and taken care of, later paramedics from the fire brigade took over. “She came to the hospital,” said a police spokesman for the MOPO. “There was no danger to life.”

The Hyundai apparently collided with an Opel Astra. The force of the impact was so violent that the Hyundai was thrown away and ultimately landed in an inclined position. Did the later injured person drive when they were red? “That cannot be ruled out,” the spokesman continued, “the investigations are ongoing.”

The construction site on the Alster is not only a bottleneck, but also an accident hotspot: In November and December of last year alone, there were almost 30 accidents here, as a CDU inquiry in the northern district found. Even after the turn of the year it didn’t get any better.
