On Wednesday afternoon, a bus driver came off the road and drove into a tree on Goldbekplatz in Winterhude. The cause: The driver lost consciousness due to illness at the wheel and no longer had control over the vehicle, the police said when asked by MOPO. The bus crashed into a tree by the side of the road.

Passers-by called the emergency doctor, the bus driver was taken to a hospital. There were no other injuries – the bus was traveling without passengers at the time of the accident.
