Who just abandoned the cat Lilo to die? The Hamburg Animal Welfare Association asks itself – and is now filing a criminal complaint against an unknown animal abuser.

Hamburg – The pictures are bad: When cat grandma Lilo was handed over to the Hamburg animal rights activists, she looked more dead than alive. Almost died of thirst and froze, near starvation. The field was just a huge lump of felt and excrement. The animal rescuers acted immediately, put the 15-year-old animal under anesthesia and freed it from the worst contamination.

Lilo survived, was nursed – now the search for the owner begins. The Hamburger Tierschutzverein suspects that the poor animal was simply abandoned, left to its own devices and to die. She asks the population for help and has even offered a 500 euro reward for tips that lead to the perpetrator being caught.
