Serious traffic accident in the east of Hamburg: On Monday morning, a bus and an oncoming truck collided on the Neuengammer Hausdeich. Several passengers were injured, including schoolchildren.
According to initial information from the police, the two heavy vehicles had brushed against each other on the narrow village street that runs right next to the Dove Elbe. Windows on both vehicles broke, the frame of the bus bent badly at the front.
Hamburg: bus and truck collide – ten students injured
The 323 bus was on its way to the Curslack-Neuengamme school. Many students used the bus that morning, three were injured, according to the police, and the bus driver and the truck driver were also injured. Originally there was talk of ten injured students. According to further information, the young people should be between 14 and 15 years old. All of the injured were taken to a hospital.

The police blocked the Neuengammer house dike in both directions, while the fire brigade took care of the students and the two drivers. Two rescue helicopters had also been requested. The exact cause of the accident is still unclear – but the officials have already started investigations into the case. (dg)
