The same scheme as always and everywhere.
Instead of questioning yourself and taking a look first, immediately raise publicly against the customers and shift all responsibility and blame away from yourself.
He probably agreed with the CEO of the airport from Munich, you could say evil if you wanted to add some dark humor.
“We are very sorry that the airlines have been striking here to get the maximum reaction from the media and to create a dangerous situation for the passengers. “
Can he prove that too? Or is he just throwing this claim to the media as fact? I hardly believe that FR, DE and EW agree, they are enemies of each other. Under healthy conditions, DE and/or EW would certainly have been happy to jump on the free slots immediately.
“It is possible to increase taxes of only 2.30 euros per passenger, about nine percent.”
And how many increases have there been in recent years? And yes, of course, it says “only 9%”, but there are a few others in line who also increase and increase and increase their fees. And now the barrel is full.
“Just” €2.30 times 150 passengers times 1000 flights is still €345,000 that must be earned first.

I also see it as Hamburg Airport writes. The fees are slightly increased (except for the location in Hamburg), they coordinate and threaten.
In my opinion, it is about building political pressure on Hamburg Airport.
==> Against the EU? That cannot be true, because the airport taxes in Prague and Madrid are much lower (if you believe the German airlines) and these cities are also in the EU.
It’s not just the airlines that say this. The ADV also announced this on TV yesterday.
Among other things, n-tv provided a breakdown of the fees for an average flight.
Germany around 4000 €
Brussels and Rome around 2000 €
Madrid under 700 €

In the meantime there will be a lot of screaming. It is interesting that the moderate increase in airport taxes is being used as an opportunity. As if airports worked for free.
Nobody says that the airports should work for free!
And moderate? I’m still waiting for the airport to explain how they get the 10%… if the average passenger spends €9.90 today and has an extra €2.30 to pay in the future , we are at a 23% increase. I don’t think 23% is moderate.
So: Dear Hamburg Airport, stay cool and let some water flow down the Elbe – everything will be fine 🙂
I agree with that!
You are also welcome to do so. Then the airport should not complain that the airlines are now turning their backs on it. Then you now have to live with your own decision and accept that customers will buy the service elsewhere.
