Hamas’s Approval Needed to Secure Hostage Release
A potential breakthrough in the ongoing hostage crisis between Israel and Hamas appears imminent. According to a recent N12 report,all major obstacles to a prisoner exchange have been overcome,leaving only Hamas’s final consent as the remaining hurdle.An Israeli delegation recently traveled to qatar to continue negotiations aimed at securing the release of Israeli hostages.
Sources familiar with the negotiations revealed a key sticking point: Hamas’s reluctance to provide a complete list of hostages to be released. “The Hamas delegation claimed that they needed a week to locate all the hostages,” the report stated. This delay has added complexity to the already delicate situation.
