Hamas released eleven hostages on Monday in a deal with Israel. The Israeli army and the International Red Cross, among others, confirm this. In exchange for their release, Israel lets 33 Palestinians go.

According to initial reports, eleven Israelis who also have foreign passports have been released. These are two people with a German passport, three with a French passport and six with an Argentine passport. The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports this on X.

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz writes that it concerns two women and nine children. The youngest hostages are said to be three years old. A spokesperson for the Israeli army says the hostages are now back in Israel.

In exchange for the release of this group, Israel released 33 Palestinians. According to Qatar, the victims are three women and thirty minors.

According to other reports, Hamas has released six people from Thailand. They would have been released regardless of the agreements between Israel and Hamas.

Armistice has been extended by two days

The ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is extended by two days. The pause in fighting was due to end on Monday after four days, but the two sides have reached a new agreement.

“An agreement has been reached to extend the humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for another two days,” a spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of mediator Qatar wrote on X on Monday evening.

Hamas confirms that the group has agreed to an extension of the fighting pause. The White House also says the two sides have reached an agreement. Israel has not yet confirmed the extension.

Another 20 Israeli hostages and 60 Palestinians are scheduled to be released in the next two days.

Qatar plays an important role in the negotiations. It is one of the few Arab states that has long recognized Hamas as a legitimate movement. Hamas’s political headquarters are also in Qatar.
