Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Senior office HamasOsama Hamdan, still doesn’t care about the Prime Minister’s ultimatum Israel Benjamin Netanyahu which will destroy the Palestinian resistance group.
Hamdan stated that he would not release the hostages except on one condition.
“The aim of the Israeli side, through leaks, is to face internal pressure,” Hamdan said in Beirut to Al Jazeera, Wednesday (13/12).
He later said, “Israel’s position regarding this perspective is for internal consumption.”
Hamdan’s remarks came after Israeli media, citing official comments, said Benjamin Netanyahu’s government was open to a humanitarian pause (truce).
On the other hand, the United Nations (UN) succeeded in adopting a resolution regarding Gaza on Tuesday.
The resolution calls for an immediate cease-fire in Gaza, insisting that all parties comply with international law, and granting humanitarian access to hostages or prisoners.
Even though the UN succeeded in adopting it, this resolution is not binding and there is no guarantee that Israel will comply.
Israel and Hamas agreed to a cease-fire on November 24 and it was extended twice until November 30.
After the ceasefire ended, Israel launched an all-out attack on Gaza. To date, the total death toll due to attacks by Zionist forces has reached 18,000.
