Hamas Justifies October 7th Attack on Israel in 16-Page Public Statement

The attacks were a normal reaction to confront all Israeli conspiracies against the Palestinian people, Hamas’ first public account of October 7 said.

– There may have been some mistakes in the implementation of the operation al-Aqsa Floods due to the rapid collapse of the Israeli security and military system, and the chaos that was caused along the border areas of the Gaza Strip, says Hamas.

At the same time, Hamas demands that Israel stop its “aggression” against Gaza with immediate effect. Only the Palestinian people decide on the future of Gaza, says the statement.

At the same time, Hamas accuses Israel of ethnic cleansing against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The statements come from a 16-page document that Hamas published on Sunday, in which they justify their attack on Israel on October 7 last year.

Around 1,140 people were killed when Hamas militants attacked Israel. Among them 332 Israeli soldiers and 57 police officers, while the rest were civilians.

At the same time, Hamas and the Islamic Holy War group took approximately 240 people hostage. 132 of these have still not been accounted for.

Israel has responded to the Hamas attack with fierce airstrikes against the Gaza Strip. 25,105 Palestinians have so far been killed in Israeli attacks against the enclave.

The number of wounded Palestinians since the outbreak of war on 7 October last year is now up to 62,681, according to the health authorities in Gaza.
