In the last week, more than ten thousand people with a positive test for covid-19 are added to the Czech Republic every day. On Saturday alone, 11,428 new cases were reported. The actual general closure of schools, with the exception of kindergartens and “crisis” schools for children of health professionals and other necessary professions, took place in mid-October. Earlier, they also switched to online teaching at universities and high schools. According to the original plan, at least some of the pupils were to return to the benches on Monday, November 2.

In the current situation, however, the Minister of Education, Robert Plaga (for YES), considers it a priority that at least pupils in the 1st and 2nd grades of primary schools return to full-time teaching.
