Artificial intelligence is certainly not new, but with OpenAI’s ChatGPT, the technology gained enormous awareness and popularity among the general public. Suddenly a machine could write texts or have conversations like a human, or so we got the impression. Because the chatbot obviously cannot reason and simply puts the most logical words in a row when it receives a question.
The technology is catching on: in 5 days time more than a million people use ChatGPT and after two months there are already 100 million. By way of comparison: TikTok took nine months to do that and Instagram more than two years.
