Halter Group AG becomes the main shareholder of Pilatus Arena Sports & Events AG – Handball Switzerland

The interior work and operational preparations for the “Pilatus Arena” are in full swing. The impressive architecture as well as the atmospheric and technical equipment guarantee electrifying moments and unforgettable experiences. In addition to this there is the good connection by train, bus and car, which makes the “Pilatus Arena” a first class event venue. The arena will be the new home of HC Kriens-Luzern and at the same time a platform for first class events. The focus is on international matches, national finals, world and European championships, concerts, corporate events, conferences as well as school and university sports. As the general tenant of the arena, the operating company Pilatus Arena Sports & Events AG (PASE) takes responsibility for the organization and marketing of these events.

The Halter Group has acquired a 70 percent stake in the newly established PASE as a major shareholder. The remaining 30 percent is held by Caranto AG, which will use its knowledge and operational expertise to design stadium logistics at the highest level. The PASE Board of Directors consists of Andreas Campi, Alois Keizer, Markus Mettler (Chairman) and Julia Schwöbel.

Julia Schwöbel, co-owner of Caranto AG, is also a member of the board of directors of HC Kriens Luzern AG. Toni Bucher, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the developer Pilatus Arena AG, said: “The fact that the Halter Group is now also taking over the majority of the operations of the Pilatus Arena is a real star. The collaboration between the partners is well established and the capabilities complement each other in an optimal way.”

With the entry of the Halter Group as the main shareholder, PASE will be part of the Halter Ecosystem. Markus Mettler, Chairman of the PASE Board of Directors, explains: “This corresponds to our strategy in the Halter Ecosystem to position companies independently throughout the real estate lifecycle – from spatial planning to operations – and at the same time connecting their know-how and networking in the ecosystem and working together in a synergistic way.

The next step involves hiring a future operations manager, and then gradually developing the team. The opening is planned for the fourth quarter of 2025, crowned with a home game for HC Kriens-Luzern. The “Pilatus Arena” will therefore be a first-class destination for sports fans and event enthusiasts from all over Central Switzerland and beyond.
