The American singer Halsey presented the cover of the fourth album of her career: “If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power” (“If I can not have love, I want power”).
The art was unveiled through a video recorded at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in which the pop singer walks through exhibits before finally pulling on a cover to reveal the life-size painting used to The masterpiece.
“This album is a concept album about the joys and horrors of pregnancy and childbirth. It was very important to me that the cover art conveyed the feeling of my journey in recent months, ”Halsey wrote on her Instagram account.
“The dichotomy of the Virgin and the Harlot. The idea that I as a sexual being and my body as a container and gift for my son are two concepts that can coexist peacefully and powerfully. My body has belonged to the world in many different ways in recent years, and this image is my means of reclaiming my autonomy and establishing my pride and strength as a vital force for me as a human being ”, expressed the artist, who lost several pregnancies before in her attempt to become a mother.
