Game news Halo Infinite: release scheduled for fall 2021, a first multiplayer map presented in pictures

343 Industries had promised news of Halo Infinite before the end of the year, and it was finally through a blog post that the studio took the floor, confirming a new release period for the game: the fall 2021.

Concept art signed Martin Deschambault

This is Joseph Staten, current creative director of Halo Infinite, who made this announcement on the site Halowaypoint. Called in on the project last august, we owe him in particular the writing and direction of the cutscenes of the first three episodes of the franchise.

He then gave the floor to several members of 343 Industries, who gave some details on the changes made since the July presentation. They admit that this demo did not live up to expectations from a visual point of view: “Visual fidelity is a very important goal for Halo Infinite. The graphics and art teams continually aspire, and work closely with each other, to create the most beautiful Halo game ever.”, says Ani Shastry, Graphics Development Manager. They even evoke the famous Craig, whose face “without life” became a ”even”. In the demo, the facial animation of the PnJ was not fully implemented, and improvements have been made on this point since.

If the July demo showed the campaign and its open world, this blog post is also used to discuss multiplayer, which, let us remember, will be free-to-play. A first map is presented below, as well as different characters and armor. We are promised an absence of loot boxes or mechanical grind to make players addicted, greater generosity on rewards compared to Halo 5, as well as various customization options with a coating system on armor, weapons and even vehicles.

Halo Infinite is planned on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
