If you ask people which Halo is their favorite, very few of them will answer Halo 3. It was released in 2007 as the first Halo for the Xbox 360, and received overwhelmingly positive reviews and huge sales figures.
Apparently, 343 Industries has now realized that this is something that many gamers want to return to. So they introduced a mode called 8v8 Squad Battles for Halo Infinite. The studio explained the concept, comparing it to classic big team battles:
“If you think big team fights are too chaotic in 12v12 but not enough in 4v4, then let us introduce you to our new squad fight playlist!
Similar to the old BTB, Squad Battles mixes killer and objective modes on community-made maps, making 8v8 pits ideal for infantry and vehicle combat. Some might even look a little familiar to Halo veterans…”
To really maximize the nostalgia of 8v8 squad battles, this new mode adds three classic forges created from Halo 3, which is a really good option:
• Halo 3: Last Resort Remastered
• Halo 3 Valhalla Remastered
• Halo 3 Rat’s Nest Remastered
