«Halo Infinite» will be missing a few things when it launches later this year, according to a new video from Bungie – and just so it is said, the game has not yet been given a launch date.
The game, which will be available in stores in 2021, will be launched without a co-op mode in the story section and without the map editing tool Forge. However, both parts will be on their way via free updates. The collaboration mode will be implemented within three months of launch in a “season 2” update; while Forge arrives six months after launching in “Season 3”, according to WindowsCentral.
The creative director of the project, Joseph Staten, explains that the functions will not be completed in time for the launch of “Halo Infinite”: “Our top priority is to make sure that everything we launch, when we launch it, meets the right quality goal. Across all platforms, Xbox devices, PCs and all the different configurations these can have. “
Here is the above video – jump to 16:20 to hear the comments to the State:
We have not yet received an official launch date, and Bungie is still repeating that the game will be released “holiday 2021” (the holiday season in the US starts around the autumn Thanksgiving party at the end of November.) The developers have considered postponing the entire game, but the team believes be a “living game”, to use the words of the State. The idea is that they will continue to develop the game actively and add more content and more features in the future, which is reflected in the decision to put the collaboration mode and the Forge tool on hold.
Three to four months left to wait for “Halo Infinite”
The original plan was that “Halo Infinite” would be ready for the launch of the Xbox Series X in November 2020, but the game was postponed until 2021, something the developers say was done so that players would get “The game they deserve”. Although the launch window was estimated to be around the 2021 holiday season in the US, it has been quiet from Bungie and Microsoft regarding an exact date – but internally it is said that Microsoft operates with a window on “a couple of weeks”.
In the time after the postponement, we were still served a limited one «Halo Infinite»-betaperiode in July, where lucky gamers were allowed to test the new game (although the version was already a couple of months old at the time), and since then we have heard some rumors about the content, among other things we got a leak of a multiplayer maps, and rumors of one battle royale-modus.
The video update we were served last week did not include a new video of the game itself – only developers who sat on a sofa and talked – but we still got promises that there will be videos of the game in action before launch, so now it’s just a matter of time. with patience and hope that the current launch window is not too optimistic.
