Trelleborg had five straight wins at home at Vångavallen before the match. But Halmstad would break the deadlock directly on their first shot.
In the eighth minute, a pass came from Sadat Karim which goal king Alexander Johansson threw himself forward and pushed in 1-0 to the visitors. The home team thus had to start the match directly against the wind.
But Trelleborg would play up.
Halmstad’s goalkeeper Malkolm Nilsson Säfqvist was put to several tests at the end of the first half. In overtime, Nigerian Henry Offia got free in the penalty area and had a shot, but the ball went right at the goalkeeper.
Pressed for equalization – got penalized
In the first attack of the second half, the same Offia had an excellent position to equalise. A nice cross came from midfielder Felix Hörberg on the right wing but the striker missed the target.
Halmstad would also increase to 2-0. In the 67th minute, centre-back Alexander Berntsson got on top of a long ball and headed the ball past Trelleborg’s Isak Jönsson. The traveling centre-back did not have time to react and unfortunately bumped it into his own goal.
Trelleborg then pressed for a reduction – then they would be severely punished.
Two goals in three minutes
In the 76th minute, striker Villiam Dahlström was released in the penalty area and shot it in with a fine finish into the goalkeeper’s right corner. But it wouldn’t end there.
On a corner in the 79th minute, 40-year-old veteran Andreas Johansson also headed in 4-0 after being able to slot it into the goal undisturbed.
With today’s goal, Halmstad’s striker Alexander Johansson has now scored nine goals in 15 games in the super league.

– I don’t really know what has actually happened. I had my first season last year where I made some forays into the Allsvenskan. This year it has loosened considerably. It’s great fun to get the chance from the start and show that you can score, says Johansson.
