The opening hours of facilities in the City and Metropolis of Montpellier may be modified on the occasion of this Monday, November 11, a public holiday.
This Monday, November 11, is a public holiday in France to commemorate the signing of the Armistice of November 11, 1918, which marked the end of the fighting in the First World War. Like every public holiday, many places are closed. We take stock of the opening or closing of facilities in the City and Metropolis of Montpellier.
Ceremony of November 11 at the Arc de Triomphe: watch out for traffic
The ceremony on November 11 will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. at the Arc de Triomphe, rue Foch.
To ensure the safety of the event, traffic restrictions will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. around the Peyrou garden and the Arc de Triomphe.
Streets closed
Lanes closed to traffic: a portion of rue Pitot between rue Gouan and rue Barthez and rue de la Blottière, François Franque and a portion of Foch. Motorists will have no difficulty leaving the Arc de Triomphe car park by taking Boulevard du Professor Louis-Vialleton.
Recommended itineraries
A detour will be set up via rue Clapiès: for users coming from rue de la Merci or Boulevard Ledru-Rollin. Via rue Gouan: for those coming from Les Arceaux via rue Pitot and via rue du Carré du Roi: for users coming from rue du Faubourg Saint-Jaumes and via rue Cambacéres and Rue Saint-Guilhem for motorists who will leave the Foch car park.
The Town Hall and the Montpellier Métropole Hotel will be closed this Monday, November 11. Just like the CCAS and all media libraries.
Museums, not all open
The Fabre Museum will be closed, like the two MO.CO sites. The same will apply to the Museum of Old Montpellier, the Dominique Bagouet and Saint-Ravy spaces and the Ensemble de l’Œuvre de la Miséricorde – Chapel and Pharmacy, as well as the Popular Pavilion.
On the other hand, the Lattara Archaeological Site – Henri Prades Museum will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The Nestor-Burma cinema and the Lunaret Zoological Park open
The Nestor-Burma cinema will be open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
As for the Lunaret Zoo, it will also be open for a family stroll from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
TOURIST OFFICE
The Tourist Office will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to welcome the public.
Cemeteries
The Death Notification Service will be closed this Monday, November 11.
Municipal cemeteries will be open
– Saint-Étienne and Metropolitan Cemeteries from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
– Saint-Lazare Cemetery: historic Saint-Lazare from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saint-Lazare extension from 9:20 a.m. to 5:50 p.m., Saint-Lazare annex from 9:10 a.m. to 5:40 p.m.
– Celleneuve Cemetery from 9:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m.

No open-air markets
The Comedy, Fine Arts and second-hand clothes markets will be closed this Monday, November 11.
The Halles are not all open
The Castellane, Laissac and 4 Saisons halls will be open in the morning from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. However, the Jacques-Cœur halls will be closed.
