Like last year, the Halloween party that takes place on Monday 31 October is supervised. With the aim of avoiding overflows and guaranteeing public safety, the prefect of Réunion, Jérôme Filippini, has decided to implement restrictive measures.
For Halloween, Jérôme Filippini, prefect of Reunion, implemented strengthened measures to reduce the risk of public order disturbances.
Ban on the sale and consumption of alcohol
– The sale as well as the takeaway sale of any type of alcoholic beverage, refrigerated or not, of the 3rd, 4th and 5th group defined by article L3321-1 of the public health code is prohibited throughout the department. from Monday 31 October at 6:00 to Tuesday 1 November at 6:00
– The consumption of alcohol on public roads is also prohibited (excluding the terraces of bars, cafes and restaurants). from Monday 31 October at 6:00 until Tuesday 1 November at 6:00
Any violation of these measures can be punished with a fine of 135 €. Operators of businesses that do not comply with regulations may be subject to administrative closures.
Ban on the sale and transport of fireworks and fuel
– The sale of fireworks of category 3 and 4 as well as the transport, transport and use of fireworks of all categories, pyrotechnic articles, emergency rockets, on and in the direction of public roads is prohibited from Saturday 29 October at 00:00 (including Saturday) and until Tuesday 1 November at 6:00.
– It is also forbidden the retail sale, the port and the transport of fuels, combustible or corrosive products, in any transportable container, such as cans, drums, as Saturday 29 October at 00:00 (including Saturday) and until Tuesday 1 November at 6:00.
These prohibitions do not apply to professionals who provide proof of their activity.
Prohibition of transportation and use of firearms
– Carrying, transporting and using firearms, even fictitious weapons and ammunition on public roads or intended for public roads, as well as any object suitable for being a weapon pursuant to articles 132-75 of the Italian Criminal Code or which can be used as a projectile that present a danger to the safety of people and things. from Saturday 29 October at 24 (including Saturday) until Tuesday 1 November at 6.
These prohibitions do not apply to professionals who provide proof of their activity.
Strengthening the internal security forces
This Monday evening, expect to meet police and gendarmes on the streets of Reunion. Being the authorities accustomed to the overflows every year in the night from 31 October to 1 November, the prefect of Réunion has decided to strengthen the police presence. The Departmental Fire and Rescue Service (SDIS 974) will also mobilize additional resources.
Supervisory collective
The prefect recalls that it is up to everyone to adopt responsible behavior:
– It is recommended not to place any object on the public road that could be diverted from its first use or capable of serving as fuel (containers, green waste, bulky objects, etc.).
– People are advised not to take out the trash on Monday evening, October 31st.
– Do not use emergency numbers for entertainment purposes, etc.
