Postpone and sit out the tense situation or break new ground? Warner Bros. and Walt Disney are currently showing what a solution to the corona problem could look like. Because of the ongoing corona crisis, the renowned studios have been sitting on their films for almost twelve months. Not everyone wants to just accept that anymore. While Warner will make the entire cinema program in 2021 available digitally, in the case of Disney it will be at least selected films like Pixar’s Soul, Mulan or the coming one Raya and the last dragon. Other studios too must gradually come to the bitter truth Look in the eye – without cinemas and an end to the crisis, there would be no cinema revenues and money for new productions.
So alternatives are being considered – even in the case of the eagerly awaited Halloween-Continuation Halloween Kills. The producer of the Reboot series, Jason Blum, had already made it clear last year that the film should definitely come in 2021, no matter when, where and, above all, how. Now John Carpenter joins the discussion.

From NME when asked about the topic, explains the Halloween-Franchise Creator:
„Ob Halloween Kills could be released in a similar way to the Warner films? For sure. The reality is that the cinemas are dead. It’s a tragedy, but it’s true. You have to face the situation, ”said Carpenter. Universal Pictures would have him and David [Gordon Green, den Regisseur] contacted and they would have jointly agreed to postpone the film for a year and hope for improvement. But Carpenter apparently does not personally believe that this will happen in time, and therefore he does not condemn studios like Warner Bros., which would look for emergency solutions in the interests of their company.
Carpenter raves about Halloween kills
If the situation is still or again tense in October, it is quite possible that Halloween Kills both digital and limited in cinemas. What that for the firmly planned Halloween Ends would mean cannot be said yet.
The grand finale, which was originally planned for October 2021, is not over yet. If Carpenter is to be believed, David Gordon Green will hardly be able to outdo himself again anyway. In an interview he referred to it Halloween Kills recently as the “ultimate slasher film”. And he doesn’t seem to be alone in this opinion.
“For producers and owners of the Halloween-Row, Malek Akkad, is in order Halloween Kills right behind the original film [Carpenters] on. These are his words. We haven’t had such an uncompromising slasher in a long time, “says Carpenter, and fans’ anticipation increases immeasurably with statements like these. Or does he end up playing too hard?
