THE PROGRAM OF EVENTS

The Municipality of Ioannito celebrates Halloween 2024 with jamals, carnival, merry-go-rounds and Latin rhythms.

Analytically:

On Shrove Tuesday, March 10, 2024, at 12:00, in Litharitsia, Cultural clubs, and not only, will dance the traditional merry-go-round and present events of Shrove Tuesday. It is organized by the Department of Traditional Dances of the Municipality of Ioannito.

On the pedestrian street of Michael Angelou Street, next to the Region of Epirus, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 20:00, the Bandina of the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Ioannito will present a program with Latin rhythms. The musical director is Christos Georganos.

On Tyrini Sunday, March 17, 2024, from 12 noon, parade of carnivalists and floats, dancing and fun at the Katsika Carnival, organized by the local cultural association. The opening party of the Katsika Carnival will take place on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 20:00, on Kallari Street, co-organized by the Cultural Association of Katsikas with the Association of the Historical Center “Ta Palia Iannena”.

On the same day, March 17, from the early afternoon in all the districts of the city the traditional jamals are lit. With the help of the Municipality of Ioannito, which offers all clubs plenty of wine and wood, young and old dance, disguised or not, in double and triple rows around the jamala until the early hours of the morning. Late in the evening, traditional bean soup is also served. This year, 72 candles will be lit throughout the basin of the Municipality of Ioannito.

Kouloumas will be celebrated in Litharitsia Park. On Clean Monday, March 18, 2024, the Municipality of Ioanniton, from 12 noon, offers traditional dishes of the day: bean salad, lagana, halva, olives, pickles and plenty of wine.
