Scary atmosphere in the central building of the Horb marble factory: at the Halloween concert “Hellbash” the fans of hard tones got their money.

Horb – The “Hellbash” concert has been an integral part of Nagold’s music scene for more than ten years. Every year, Nagold musicians usually gather at the “Youz” youth center for the “Hellbash” to celebrate Halloween together. Due to the lack of staff, this year it was not possible to carry out this project in the “Youz”, so the Halloween show took place in the eerie atmosphere of the central marble building.

Friendly style

The musicians actually replace each other when the bands appear, making the event akin to a live jam session. This time the bands only played their sets, which didn’t spoil the family and friendly atmosphere. Quite the contrary: the musicians felt at home in the new Horb concert venue in no time and were delighted by the Horb audience.

The opening of the “Hellbash” was the responsibility of Sulzer’s “Black Leaf Draft” lineup, which has made a name for itself in Horb and the surrounding area over the past year. Music fans were particularly excited about the band’s songs, which were played with a lot of heart and soul. Among them the title “No Crime”, which turned out to be a real catchy tune, especially for fans of the harder genre. In addition, the band around frontman Jörg Bossenmaier (vocals, guitar) performed a wide selection of covers, which delighted the audience. Bassist Frank Bossenmaier also demonstrated that he could handle his bass fingers with the same agility as the frontman on his guitar, while Christoph Schon led the band forcefully forward on drums.

Personal interpretation of a classic

Nagold’s classic three-man rock combo “Sheffield” continued with their performance with powerful sound. Singer and guitarist Jens van der Ven, who demanded everything from his brutal vocal apparatus from the start, was particularly impressive. At the latest after the opening track “Who Are You?” clearly because the troupe is also known as the “Dirty Foo Fighters”. In addition to van der Ven, drummer Michael Cascales and bassist Erol Sulejmanovski clearly put an exclamation point behind this comparison. His own take on the Nirvana classic “Heart Shaped Box,” which achieved a new style faster, stronger and stronger, also sparked excitement. The audience then changed style with the appearance of “Revolter” and “No Rest For The Wicked”. Especially “Metalcore” fans got their money.

Screaming solo riffs

There was no trace of the three-year absence from the stage in “Revolter”. At the most in terms of playfulness with which the protagonists acted on stage. True to the title of the song of the same name, the motto was “Full speed ahead”. A wildly waving long mane, screaming lead riffs followed by brutal chords – embodied by guitarist Kevin Beck – were also in stark contradiction to the song’s title “Deescalation” to the delight of the audience. Frontman Ralf Lehert, bassist Daniel Riedel and Laki Adithiya (drums) also stepped up under constant strobing to the song “Benzin” on stage before the actors greeted the audience with “Raise Your Beer”.

The last part of the concert was performed by the musicians of “No Rest For The Wicked”, who successfully concluded the Halloween event with their songs “Purpose”, “(W) hole” and “Hol (low) “.
