Moutet dominated by Kohlschreiber
After having benefited from the abandonment of David Goffin in the first round in Halle when he was badly embarked, Corentin Moutet did not benefit from a boost of fate in the second against Philipp Kohlschreiber. The French, 94th world, lost in two sets against the German, 128th and beneficiary of an invitation: 6-4, 7-6 in 1h46. Moutet broke on the only opportunity to meet his opponent at the start of the match. He then missed three break points, at 2-1 and 5-4, and therefore let the first set slip with regret.
