PEOPLE – A nice surprise. Actress Halle Bailey, who became known in particular in 2023 with the release of the live action cartoon The little Mermaid, announced the birth of her first child on Instagram on Saturday January 6. It’s about a little boy named Halo.
“Even though we are a few days into the new year, the greatest thing 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son… Welcome to the world my Halo [qui signifie auréole en français, NDLR]. The world really wants to know you.” writes the 23-year-old actress, in a relationship with rapper DDG.

The news comes as a surprise to fans, since Halle Bailey, who is also a singer and recently released her first solo EP, had never confirmed that she was pregnant despite rumors.
During her recent appearances like last December, a loose dress hid her curves while the photos posted on her social networks never revealed the slightest baby bump. She did not give the exact date of birth.
Rapper DDG, with whom she has been in a relationship for two years, posted the same photo as her on his Instagram account. “My greatest blessing so far. Son, son… I’ve never been so in love. Baby Halo”, he wrote under the photo which shows the child’s little hand with a bracelet with his name.
