Halim Airport Closed, 67 Airplanes Moved

Halim Airport has been temporarily closed since Wednesday (26/1/2022) for revitalization.

REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — Halim Perdanakusuma Airport was temporarily closed yesterday (26/1/2022) for the revitalization process. President Director of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said all 67 commercial aircraft operated by scheduled and non-scheduled commercial airlines had been moved gradually on January 22-25, 2022 to the receiving airport.

“The scenario of moving commercial aircraft from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport to the receiving airport went very smoothly,” said Awaluddin in a written statement, Wednesday (27/1/2022). –

Awaluddin explained that the airport that received the most scheduled and unscheduled flights from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport was Soekarno-Hatta Airport. He said that Soekarno-Hatta Airport received as many as seven units of scheduled commercial airline aircraft and 42 units of non-scheduled commercial airline aircraft.

He ensured that Soekarno-Hatta Airport optimizes parking stand available to receive aircraft transfers from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport. “Soekarno-Hatta Airport has parking stand which is able to park up to 270 aircraft units so that the capacity is very ready to accept aircraft transfers from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport,” said Awaluddin.

He added that coordination with airlines has also been carried out regarding the placement of aircraft and aircraft passenger terminals. Through this aircraft transfer, Awaluddin said, Soekarno-Hatta Airport could support Halim Airport revitalization Perdanakusuma at the same time ensuring national flight connectivity is maintained. –

Meanwhile, since yesterday (26/1/2022), Batik Air and Citilink scheduled commercial flights, which were previously operated at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, are currently operating at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Batik Air operates in Terminal 2E and Citilink operates in Terminal 3.

VVIP and VIP flights are now also carried out at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. Soekarno-Hatta Airport has a VIP Terminal located in the Terminal 3 area which is functioned to serve flights for state guests.
