One of the promises with which UEFA revived the European football competitions was to increase the prize pools. After four match days (3 in the Conference League, ed.) in the European ‘league levels’, the Belgian clubs have already reaped the benefits.

In total, the Belgian clubs together have collected more than 66 million euros in prize money.

The lion’s share of that amount has been credited Club Brugeswhich was allowed to enter the generous treasury of the Champions League.

As a preliminary bonus for the league level, Club received 18.62 million euros in addition to an estimated amount of 18.4 million from the value pile (price based on past performance and TV money pot).

The two winners each earned 2.1 million or a combined 4.2 million.

The club currently has a total jackpot of 41.22 million euros.

Anderlecht in Union to take part in the second European championship, but compared to Club they are just a piece of cake. The starting fee in the Europa League league level is “only” 4.31 million euros. Plus a value column that hasn’t been fully tested yet.

Anderlecht, which qualified after a qualifying round, added another million and a half with its 3 winners, each worth 450,000 euros, and a draw (150,000 euros).

The Union, who also played a preliminary round, have to deal with just two draws this time, good for an additional check of 300,000 euros.

Anderlecht currently amounts to just under 6 million euros, the Union is doing business with 4.785 million.

Finally, scroll AA Gent in Cercle Bruges at the Conference League buffet, but the least amount of sweetness is available there. The starting fee at the tournament level is 3.17 million euros. In addition, again a column of value that is not yet fully established.

Both teams battled through three European preliminary rounds on their way to the league stage, worth €525,000 in preliminary round prices. AA Gent can add another 800,000 euros to this with its two wins, Cercle Brugge 533,000 euros.

With a semi-final for Club Brugge and the eighth final for Union and Gent in the Conference League, the Belgian clubs achieved unprecedented European success last season.

This paid off not only financially in money, but also in coefficient points. So our country got the highest score of 14,400 points. Thus Belgium strengthened its eighth place in the country’s ranking.

This season too, the five Belgian representatives have already collected a lot of points.

With this temporary movement of 7,400 points, Belgium easily maintains its position in eighth place in the country ranking. It looks like the Czech Republic’s number one chaser will not be able to close the gap this season, but Portugal’s number 7 is moving further away due to a key season.
