You can travel to and from Révfülöp on Saturday’s 41st Lake Balaton crossing with a discounted, 50 percent one-way round-trip train ticket, the MÁV-Volán group told MTI on Thursday.
According to the announcement, the ticket is valid from midnight on Friday until midnight on Sunday, and must be validated for the return trip at the venue of the event.
It was also announced that the organizers will transport the participants back from Balatonboglár by ferry. Passengers staying on the shore of the lake after swimming were recommended to use the Balaton24 and 72 day tickets, which allow an unlimited number of trips around Lake Balaton during the validity period.
Due to the expected higher passenger traffic, the railway company will attach two extra cars to some trains on the north coast, and then the Blue Hullám InterCity trains departing from Tapolca to the Déli railway station in Budapest will also run with longer trains, they wrote.
MÁV-START drew attention to the fact that tickets should be purchased in advance, as seats may sell out and trains may be full.
Volánbusz recommends approaching the site with regular buses from the surrounding settlements – Tapolca, Veszprém, Balatonfüred, Keszthely, Hévíz and Zalaegerszeg.
