More than half of the residents of the nursing home at Anton de Komplein in Amsterdam-Southeast are infected with the corona virus. Sixteen of the thirty residents have tested positive for the virus. A spokesman for Cordaan confirms this to the news partner on Friday AT5.
After a few residents had minor symptoms, everyone was tested. The results were announced on Thursday.
“They are clients with dementia, so it is difficult to recognize whether they have symptoms,” says the spokesperson for care organization Cordaan. AT5. “What we now know is that the complaints are relatively mild, they are asymptomatic.”
The infected residents are housed on one floor. There they also receive medical care if necessary. The healthcare personnel are protected and wear medical masks and glasses, among other things.
No residents had previously been infected with the corona virus at this Cordaan location.
