“Half of our patients are between 29 and 62 years old, three in ten don’t make it”: intensivists don’t see any relaxation on 8 May | Inland

“Half of our patients – 11 out of 23 – are between 29 and 62 years old.” Professor Dominique Benoit, head of the Intensive Care department at UZ Gent, sums up how young half of the patients who are at his department with a corona infection are. “They are 11 patients of the 23 most seriously ill. I know they will be here for a long time to come. The two youngest already had health problems – obesity – but many do not have a serious medical history. They are ordinary, average Belgians. ”
