Half-Life is free. Valve’s 25th anniversary legend got a new update and an hour-long documentary

Want to feel old? This weekend marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the first Half-Life series. If you haven’t played this legend yet, now is your chance to activate it on Steam for free. But don’t delay promotion valid until 19:00 on November 20. Despite its age, it is definitely worth returning to Half-Life and experiencing the opening of Gordon Freeman’s story.

At the same time, the annual update was released, which adds a number of things, including wider graphics setting options or driver and Steam Deck support. At the same time, now in Half-Life you will also find Uplink mini-campaign, which was originally released as part of the CD version of the game in magazines. Valve made it right after they finished the original game, but you haven’t found it in the Steam version yet.

But there is also a complete novelty here. Multiplayer has grown by four new maps, which push the possibilities of what can be done in the Half-Life engine. They were created directly by designers from Valve. In multiplayer, you can also play as Ivan The Space Biker and Proto-Barney, the original protagonists from the alpha versions of the game. You definitely shouldn’t miss the new one either hour-long documentary on the development of the gamewhich was created in collaboration with Secret Tape. You’ll learn, for example, what Half-Life looked like in its early stages and what led to it eventually becoming the way we know it today.
