More than half a million Dutch households are now using a smart doorbell. This is shown on Tuesday from research by Multiscope.
This means that the number of smart doorbells in the Netherlands has doubled since 2018, says the market bureau. Half of all these devices are said to have been made by Amazon subsidiary Ring.
The number of households with a security system has grown to 18 percent, from 15 percent in 2018. The most popular is the security camera, which can be found in one in ten households.
According to the researchers, the Dutch spent 183 million euros on smart security cameras in the past year. A total of 550 million euros was spent on security systems.
For the study 6,300 Dutch people were questioned. According to the bureau, this creates a representative image of the Dutch population.
Multiscope more often investigates technology and its impact in the Netherlands. The company noted earlier this year that the Dutch have a total of 2.5 billion euros in smart home devices at home.
