Tapin also held an internet ballot for the names of the new drones. Respondents voted to name the first drone “PEACE Дец” and name the second drone “PEACE Да”.
Funds are currently being raised for the third drone, which will be called “PEACE Дюк”. €40,000 has already been raised, Tapin announced on Twitter on Sunday.
“It will be the best trio since the three tenors,” added Tapin, who is the founder of the Internet media company “Laisves TV”.
One of his previous tweets read: “Our best wishes for peace – to the Russian Black Sea Fleet.”
On the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are creating a fleet of 100 naval drones, financed by donations. These drones are made in Ukraine.
In late October, such drones were used in an attack on ships of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol Bay in occupied Crimea.
