Half a billion euros for social housing to the private market, Minister Diependaele: “I won’t get the money spent otherwise”

Matthias Diependaele (N-VA) wants to skim up to half a billion from the budget for social housing to invest in the private market. According to the minister, that money will not be spent because he “collides with the limits of the social housing sector”. He wants to offer property developers loans in exchange for renting out homes at a cheap rate.
