Hakimi attacks FIFA president after Morocco called by referee

Jakarta, CNNI Indonesia

Star of the Moroccan national team Achrafi Hakimi attack the president Fifa Gianni Infantino in the Khalifa Stadium hall after losing to Croatia at World Cup 2022.

Hakimi was reportedly angry and expressed his frustration to FIFA president Gianni Infantino when he met him in the corridor on his way to the locker room after the match against Croatia in the race for 3rd place in the 2022 World Cup.

Morocco finished fourth in the 2022 World Cup after losing to Croatia by a 1-2 scoreline in their 3rd place match at the Khalifa Stadium, Al Rayyan on Saturday (17/12).

Hakimi’s anger towards Infantino was triggered by the player’s dissatisfaction with the referee’s decision ahead of the 2022 World Cup, particularly against Croatia in the race for third place and against France in the semi-finals. Hakimi felt that Morocco was being bullied by the referee.

But FIFA reportedly tried to cover up this incident by asking the media not to publicize Hakimi’s anger towards Infantino.

“They want us to take down the images. Obviously this is an embarrassment for them and it’s a bit naïve for them to think that some journalists shouldn’t be reporting on this when we see it happening,” said SVT Sports reporter Johan Kucukaslan. Sports news.

The same thing was also expressed by TV presenter Tom Egbers who saw firsthand the episode of Hakimi getting angry with Infantino.

“Yup [Hakimi] in front of Infantino less than five centimeters. He spoke loudly, chatted with Infantino about the referee. It hurts,” said Tom Egbers.

However, according to the Moroccan presenter Arryadia TV, after the incident, Hakimi apologized to Infantino.

“He was angry about what happened [merasa Maroko dikerjai wasit]. But after that incident he [Hakimi] came to him [Infantino] again and apologized for the words said to him,” said Moroccan presenter Arryadia TV Sports buzzer.
