Mecca | The second ‘Hajj Expo 2023’ organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has started in Jeddah. Representatives from over fifty-six countries are attending this year’s Expo and various conferences.
Hajj Expo 2023 was inaugurated by Prince Khalid Al Faisal, governor of Mecca and adviser to the Saudi ruler and custodian of the holy mosques, King Salman.
The fair was organized as part of a review of impeccable services and solutions, developing modern systems to provide better service to pilgrims who visit the Holy Land as guests of Allah.
The goal of Hajj Expo is to ensure more participation among the countries of the world and create more initiatives and opportunities. This year’s Expo includes ten main sections, 13 dialogue sections and 36 workshops.
Hajj and Umrah services, digital services, facilities for pilgrims from arrival to departure from the Holy Land, electronic procedures as part of the Makkah Road project to facilitate Hajj procedures will also be reviewed at the fair.
As part of Saudi Vision 2030, the expo will be attended by international researchers, ambassadors and consuls of various countries, as well as ministers and experts.
At present, there are five countries including Pakistan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Morocco and Bangladesh in the Makkah Road project where Hajj pilgrims from foreign countries complete Saudi emigration procedures from their own airports. The main feature of the plan is that pilgrims from countries participating in the project can reach their accommodation directly from the airport without waiting for immigration.
In the first Hajj Expo held in 2021, 115 agreements were signed with various countries and 45,000 people visited the expo.
This year’s expo is held at the Jeddah Superdome and will end on January 12th.
