FTA Antalyaspor has reached an agreement with English Championship team Coventry City FC for the transfer of US striker Haji Wright. As a result of the negotiations conducted by President Sabri Gülel himself, the English club agreed to pay Antalyaspor 9 million Euros as Haji Wright’s testimonial fee. Among the clauses of the agreement, there is a bonus clause of 2 million Euros and a 20% share from the next sale of the player. Haji Wright, who was recorded as the player with the highest transfer fee in the history of the Antalyaspor club, became one of the 20 football players who were sold abroad with the highest transfer fee from Turkey.

The American football player, who started to wear the FTA Antalyaspor jersey in the 2021-2022 season, played in 64 official matches, 60 of which were in the Super League and 4 in the Turkish Cup, with a red-white jersey for 2 years. Haji Wright, who scored 14 goals in the Super League and 1 goal in the Turkish Cup in his first year and attracted the attention of his country’s national team, also showed the success of scoring 1 goal with the USA jersey in the 2022 World Cup. Continuing to score with Antalyaspor in the 2022-2023 season, Haji Wright scored 15 goals this season as well. 25-year-old Haji Wright, who attracted attention by directly contributing to 36 goals in 64 official matches, was recorded as the 5th player who scored the most goals in Antalyaspor history.

Coventry City owner Doug King, while making statements after the transfer of Haji Wright, stated that they made a transfer that broke the club record for them in terms of testimonial.
