Haiti President Shot 12 Times, His Left Eye Cracked

PORT AU PRINCE – President Haiti Jovenel Moise was shot 12 times with high-caliber bullets before eventually succumbing to his injuries. This was stated by Haitian Judge Carl Henry Destin in an interview with the country’s newspaper Le Nouvelliste.

According to Destin, cartridges of 5.56 mm caliber bullets and 7.62 mm caliber bullets were found at the house of the late president. To note, 5.56 mm caliber bullets are commonly used in various NATO weapons such as the M4A1 and FN SCAR. While 7.62 caliber bullets are usually used in the AK family of weapons.

Destin further revealed that Moise had been shot in the head, chest and hip multiple times. One bullet hit him in the forehead, while the other pierced the president’s stomach.

“The president’s office and bedroom were searched. We found him lying on his back, blue pants, white shirt covered in blood, his mouth open, his left eye broken,” Destin said, sharing gruesome details about Moise’s murder. Sputnik, Friday (9/7/2021).

At the same time, the deputy judge said, apart from the president and his wife Martine Moise, who was transferred to Florida for treatment, no one else in the house was shot, including the presidential security guard. One of Moise’s children, daughter Jomarlie Jovenel Moise, was found hiding from the attackers in her sister’s bedroom.
