Hairdressers are suddenly busy, a spokesman for hairdressing association ANKO told NU.nl on Tuesday. Hair salons notice that customers are afraid that they will no longer be able to go to the hairdresser after Tuesday evening due to possible new measures and therefore make an appointment quickly.
The picture is very variable, she says. “Some hairdressers indicate to us that there is a sudden rush, other businesses do not recognize that image.”
According to the spokesperson, it is always a bit busier than usual for press conferences at hairdressers, because people are afraid that stricter measures will be introduced. Although there is no press conference this time and there is no expectation that the policy will change significantly, some customers seem to be on the safe side.
Incidentally, the greater pressure at some businesses does not mean that those hairdressing shops also have more income. “People go to the hairdresser once in a while. They are now highlighting that visit a bit, but that means that it will be a bit quieter at the hairdressers in the near future. So turnover is shifting.”
The spokesman himself does not think that it will be announced on Tuesday evening that hairdressers should close again, just like in the spring. “We have taken many measures to make a visit to the hairdresser safe. For example, we only work by appointment and work with a hygiene protocol.”
