30 discrepancies found.
(BZ). In the districts of Lörrach, Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald and Emmendingen, in the district of Ortenau and in the city of Freiburg, the financial control for undeclared work of the main customs office in Lörrach checked a total of 49 hairdressing salons and barber shops on April 5. Not only the business documents of the companies were checked. Around 180 workers were questioned about their working conditions.
The action was part of a nationwide focus test, according to a press release from the main customs office. The approximately 50 employees deployed in the area of responsibility of the main customs office in Lörrach focused on compliance with social security obligations. The minimum working conditions and employer obligations under the Minimum Wage Act were checked for unlawful receipt of social benefits and the illegal employment of foreign employees.
In around thirty cases, the customs officers found discrepancies. This will be further investigated. In 18 cases there were indications that the statutory minimum wage of EUR 9.82 per hour was not paid out at the correct rate. In four cases, the contributions to the social insurance institutions were not or only partially paid. Two foreign workers did not have a residence or work permit. Three employees are suspected of having made unauthorized use of social benefits in addition to their wages.
