The hairspray is empty, so Tessica Brown takes an alternative. A fatal mistake, as it turns out: your hairstyle has been stuck for a month. Now the American had to go to the hospital.
This styling backfired: in the US state of Louisiana, a woman accidentally fixed her hair with glue and thus attracts worldwide attention – because Tessica Brown now had to be treated in hospital. After sharing the mishap on the Tiktok video portal at the beginning of February, she published her story a few days ago on the Instagram photo platform.
“Washed it 15 times”
In a video, the American tells that she has been walking around with the sticky hairstyle for a month. Since her hairspray was used up, she used the “Gorilla Glue” (in German: Gorilla Glue). Your regular hairspray also has the word “glue” in its name, says Brown. Therefore, the woman apparently thought that the “Gorilla Glue” could also be used as a hairspray – without looking at the packaging. This led to the dilemma: The product is a spray industrial adhesive that is usually used to attach bathroom tiles, wooden floors and decking, according to the company website. So it’s no wonder that the hairstyle is so tight.
“My hair doesn’t move. (…) I’ve washed it 15 times and it doesn’t move,” says Brown on Instagram. “Never use Gorilla Glue if you don’t want it to end like this,” adds the woman. The glue company also became aware of the incident and contacted the affected person on the short message service Twitter: “We are very sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident that Miss Brown experienced while using our spray glue on her hair.” The company points out that the adhesive is not suitable for use on the body.
“It’s going to be a really long process”
Brown is now under medical treatment, she reports on Instagram. Since then, she has kept her 661,000 followers up to date with articles, such as a picture of the solvent acetone and sterile water. This is to remove the glue from the hair. “It’s going to be a really long process,” writes Brown.
The topic burns on the social networks. Under the hashtag #gorillagluegirl, their users encourage, make fun of the incident or ask for updates. In addition, the fundraising campaign that was launched for women is a topic of conversation. More than 13,000 dollars have already been raised to support Brown – but the American still has to worry about her hair.
